Join us for a workshop that will review the current accessibility requirements in Ontario and dispel any misinformation surrounding the requirements. This workshop also looks to explore detail around CSA B651 Accessibility for the Built Environment standard, Accessibility Canada Act, details of the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (RHFAC), and how interior designers, project managers, CRE professionals can help their clients “go beyond."  There will also be a discussion on trends in amenity spaces and how these spaces can be made more inclusive and accessible for all users. This workshop does not include residential, focusing the presentation for corporate/commercial real estate projects. 
 
There will be an opportunity to break into small groups to design a mock space (i.e. reception area) to a specific accessibility code or standard including: 
Each group will be provided with a high-level summary of the program and requirements of each code/standard. Group will also present their design and discuss challenges, inconsistencies, etc.
